About

Clinicians for Climate Action New Jersey was formed in 2020 to engage New Jersey health care professionals in advocating for climate change solutions that will enable the transition to a healthy, equitable and just clean energy future. CCANJ is part of an extensive New Jersey coalition with more than 50 member organizations whose missions span energy generation, energy consumption, environmental protection, environmental justice, labor, business and pubic health.

We are one of 25 like-minded independent state organizations, comprising a network that stretches across the United StatesStarting with the early work of organizations that formed in Minnesota, Ohio, Virginia, and Vermont a decade ago, this network has demonstrated that health professionals can have a profound effect on the dialogue around climate change and carbon pollution - with the public, in the media, in legislatures, and in the healthcare sector.
